Current Transformers from Standex Electronics Approved by Measurement Canada for Revenue Billing Applications

Cincinnati, OH – May 12, 2011 – Standex Electronics is pleased to announce that three of its current transformer models have received approval from Measurement Canada for Revenue billing applications. The trio of 200-5A transformers, which include models FCT-233-BLK, FCT233-BLU and FCT233-RED, are approved to the 0.3 BO.1 accuracy class with up to a 10-foot lead length of #16AWG wire, which is believed to be the longest in the industry. These Standex current transformers, which also have UL approval for the US and Canada, are ideal for use in electricity sub-metering in condominiums and apartments – as the sensing component within the metering system. In addition to sub-metering, time of use monitoring is also facilitated by the CT.
