We presented Standex Electronics with a big challenge to keep our footprint, but also customize a solution for our transformer needs. They took genuine interest in our project, and delivered a high-performing planar transformer.
Our customer wanted to maintain the use of the current footprint but needed something that allowed for a higher energy density. The answer our Engineering Team arrived at, included a planar transformer customized to fit their manufacturing and functional needs.
We strategically partnered with their team to discover more in-depth requirements and details around their operational and application needs. Through the various reviews, modifications, rigorous testing, and extensive measuring, we looked at such things as:
- Mechanical dimensions (length, width, height, other)
- DCR primary resistance and secondary side
- Inductance, both primary and secondary
- Leakage Inductance and Capacitance verification
- Hi-POT test (high-voltage)
