When manufacturing custom high voltage transformers, it is vital that they exceed all industry requirements and standards. Designed to help create high voltage transformers more quickly and without errors, the new coil winding machine can be controlled from a computer via programmable logic controls (PLC) that use custom transformer winding software. This programming makes it capable of winding and feeding the interlayer paper automatically, cutting production costs significantly, and increasing output by roughly 40% compared to previous equipment. In addition to cutting production costs and increasing output, PLC operation can also reduce the training time for operators from six months down to one.
