Standex Electronics has a long history of developing current transformers to solve unique customer challenges. Current transformers (C.T.) are used in power supplies to accurately sense and measure current flow. Their primary function is to prevent overcurrent conditions as well as monitor and control power supply circuits. Utility companies are turning to smart meters to ensure efficient use of electricity. CT’s play an integral role in the smart grids’ ability to measure, monitor, collect and analyze how electricity is being used.
Additionally, our custom engineered transformers are designed for extreme conditions and hazards. Such as high temperature, radiation, humidity and other extreme environmental needs.
“Standex Electronics provides global support for a wide range of current sensing applications.”

Customers rely on Standex for custom designs that address individual requirements and application needs. First, Standex Electronics engineers begin each project by understanding the end-result desired. Second, we determine an appropriate means to achieve it. Third, we offer ideas and engineering expertise at each step of design process. Finally, we deliver a solution that is on target and budget. This is the Standex partner, solve, deliver® approach.
Current sense transformers can be designed in an open toroidal construction, SMT or be custom molded. Moreover, virtually any desired current ratio, output or capacitance can be met. Also, many termination options are available – including P.C. mount, flying lead, custom leads, hermetic connectors, and more.
Therefore, we offer both standard products like the CSB series plug-in solutions for PC board mounting.
