HVAC/R Liquid Level Sensor
Standex Electronics Flood Prevention Switches (FPS) HVAC/R series are simple to install, easy to service and extremely reliable. As water level in the auxiliary or main drain pipe rises (due to a clogged air conditioning condensate drain) the switch shuts off the system, thus preventing water from overflowing, causing damage to floors, walls and ceilings. Utilizing proven expert magnetic reed switch technology that feature Low voltage switching and reliable “no-stick” float design so switch operates smoothly every time. Magnetic Floats
Magnetic Float NBR or Nitrile Butadiene Rubber floats have excellent resistance to petroleum-derived liquids such as oil and gasoline and can be used in high temperature applications as well. Magnetic Float PA or Polyamide floats are made of nylon, have a very high strength-to-weight ratio making them shock and abrasion resistant, enduring a pressure of 5 bar (73 PSI or 0.5 MPa). Magnetic Float PP (polypropylene) are rugged, highly resistant to many chemical solvents, bases and acids and have a water absorption of only 0.1%. V2A Floats are made of rust-proof stainless steel and are resistant to high temperatures making them ideal for the Food & Beverage industry among others.
The B12450 Series Magnetic Float located in bottle assembly, operates with fluid specific gravity at 0.79 min. Compatible with Liquid Level Sensor series R11774, R12180.

The MS06-PP Series Magnetic Float (MS06/1-PP, MS06/2-PP, MS06/5-PP, MS06/6-PP) ring actuator magnet (centric) are made of nylon, have a very high strength-to-weight ratio making them shock and abrasion resistant as well as capable of enduring a 5 bar pressure (73 PSI or 0.5 MPa). This float has no mounting hole therefore movement of the float for actuation requires the use of a guide tube within the fluid reservoir. Float is FDA approved and especially suitable for food & beverage applications. Actuator magnet is fully contained within the float therefore protected from all liquids. Float is suitable for removable tanks that require periodic refills such as is coffee makers or other beverage equipment; float is foam. Compatible with all Reed Sensor series.
The MS07-PA Series Magnetic Float ring actuator magnet (excentric) are made of nylon, have a very high strength-to-weight ratio making them shock and abrasion resistant as well as capable of enduring a 5 bar pressure (73 PSI or 0.5 MPa). The MS10-S Series Magnetic Float ring actuator magnet (excentric) are resistant to high temperatures up to 350°C (660°F) and ideal for food and beverage industry and high pressure applications. Multiple or Continuous Level
In multiple or continuous level sensor products, 100's of sensing points are possible. Information can be signaled with simple magnetic reed switches by mounting many reed switches to a PCB to give multiple liquid level point measurements. In this application resistors can be placed in circuit to provide discreet voltage outputs that will indicate one of many possible level points along the travel path of a magnetic float for continuous liquid monitoring.
