Standex Electronics MHV Series of High Isolation Reed Relays with a low footprint
The MHV Relays expand the existing product range in the field of miniature SMD Relays.
It is unique in the term of high voltage relays. No other relay combines the electrical and thermal properties like the compact design of the MHV relays. Furthermore, it has a small dimension and weight. It is particularly helpful in measuring isolation resistance across several components in a solar energy system prior to grid connection, preventing injury or further current leakages.
The MHV Series offers isolation resistance of minimum 1010 Ω, and an isolation voltage between the coil and contact of over 3 kV. Measuring only 17.2 mm x 10.5 mm x 8.5 mm, the series provides these high isolation characteristics in a very small package. It is available in a coil voltage of 5 VDC. They are packaged in a hermetically sealed thermoset molded encapsulation, with switching voltages of 1000V.
Like all Standex Electronics high isolation reed relays, the MHV series has dynamically tested contacts and can perform millions of reliable operations. The MHV Series is RoHS compliant and has a UL approval.
The MHV’s efficient power consumption coupled with its high voltage, low leakage current, and high isolation properties make this series ideal in any device containing a battery management system. MHV relays are particularly suitable where isolation measurements between low and high voltage circuits are frequently monitored. Typical applications include electric vehicles, photovoltaic systems, test and measurement, and medical equipment.
