The common mode choke is a critical component in electromagnetic interference filtering. The magnetic material selected is commonly overlooked and is often not evaluated against application requirements. This webinar investigates the relationship between magnetic material properties and filtering performance. Multiple materials and winding configurations were tested across frequency and temperature. Test results are provided, analyzed, and compared with material property curves. The results provide a deeper understanding of magnetic materials enabling component optimization.
Speaker: Kevin Enser, Engineering Manager, Renco Electronics (A Standex Electronics Company)Kevin E. Enser has approximately 18 years of magnetics design experience focusing on power magnetics. Kevin is currently the Engineering Manager of Renco Electronics, a Standex Electronics Company, and is responsible for designing components, developing tools, and actively trains new power magnetics engineers. Kevin received a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering degree in 2004 and a master’s degree in electrical engineering, with specialization in microelectronics, photonics, and materials, in 2005 from the University at Buffalo. |
