Standex Grid to More Than Triple North American Manufacturing Capacity with New Houston Facility

Standex Grid-Amran leaders and local officials break ground on the new Houston manufacturing facility.

Standex International breaks ground on new 217,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, marking a significant milestone in Standex Grid-Amran’s growth

Standex International Corporation (NYSE: SXI), today announced that it has broken ground on a new 217,000-square-foot Standex Grid manufacturing facility in the Houston, Texas area, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued expansion in North America.

Standex-Amran leaders joined local officials on August 12 for a groundbreaking ceremony commemorating the start of construction. Expected to open in Q2 2027, the new facility will consolidate Amran’s existing Texas operations under one roof and more than triple manufacturing capacity, significantly expanding Standex Grid’s ability to support growing customer demand across North America.

“This groundbreaking represents an exciting new chapter for Standex Grid and Amran as we continue to grow our presence and capabilities in North America,” said Bhargav Shah, President, Standex Grid-Amran. “Bringing our Texas operations together in a larger, purpose-built facility will give us the capacity and flexibility to better serve our customers as demand for critical electrical grid infrastructure continues to grow. We are excited about what this facility means for our team, our customers and the future of Standex Grid.”

The facility will initially manufacture Low Voltage and Bushing Current Transformers (CTs), including dry-type and under-oil products. Its operations are being designed to scale as customer and market requirements evolve, providing the flexibility to support future expansion into Medium Voltage manufacturing and additional product categories.

The expansion builds on Standex’s 2024 acquisitions of Amran Instrument Transformers and Narayan Powertech Pvt. Ltd. and advances the company’s strategy to grow its presence in electrical grid markets. The new Houston facility represents another important step in building a larger North American manufacturing footprint for Standex Grid.
